Anyone else caught this epic new drama set in Mandate-era Palestine and 21st-century Israel? I've been glued, I think it's superbly acted, genius writing and very well made. I've found it extremely challenging and provocative, taught me an awful lot about the conflict out there which I'm embarrassed to say, I always switched off before now whenever it came on the news, mentally and literally.
Well worth watching if you get the chance, I rarely buy TV things on DVD but I will invest in this if it's released.

yes, sorry about that, i think me and marie were the main culprits... just to add my ha'peth worth, i think its brilliant, Jude is watching it too and really enjoying it - it ties in with some stuff she's doing in history. I've only see parts 1 and 2 so far as we watch it on catch up , its defitintely quality stuff and can't wait to see the next episode ! Well done Kate, a woman of great taste.... xxx :*:

Yeah well done BL for giving it its own well deserved thread. Well said Ladyblue - I am doing flipping paperwork again tonight (but can't resist a peek at the Hawley Forum) so have it taped - can't wait to watch it - best thing on telly for ages! x

Superb......as good as TV drama can get............If you missed it,find a way to watch it.
A really good article about the programme & Peter Kosminsky, the producer,on the Guardian website. The show is described as is "the best thing you are likely to see on television this year, if not this decade"......here..

Dont know what I'm going to do on Sundays now. This has really restored my faith in TV drama. Fantastic performances from all the actors, great script - expect we'll see some award nominations later in the year.

Just caught up with this as I've been watching it on 'on demand' so I've been a week late.. agree with you all, definitely one of the best things we are likely to see for a while.. absolutely loved the two parallel stories and how they came together at the end.. a good education too , I knew some of the history but its so complex so it was good to get a re-hash of how it all started.... my 13 yr old daughter watched it with us and loved it too. What with that and 'Any Human Heart' which was on before Xmas I think Channel 4 are now way ahead in the drama stakes, just goes to show what they can do if they're not pissing their budget away on Big Bro and other reality shite !!
