Fascinating series of beautifully shot portraits of Britain's disappearing trades.

Nice pictures.... think you could add quite a few more to the list of disappearing trades or skills. Had a conversation last week at work along similar lines. We design and manufacture outdoor clothing and equestrian clothing. Of course everything is manufactured in China apart from one very small part of the business which is traditional tweeds. We still make them in this country in Leeds, but this tiny factory ' the last of its kind' is about to close. They can't make a living or compete with overseas manufacturers, they make beautiful jackets not thrown together and fall apart in weeks, like high street clothing. The machinery is ancient as is the workforce. We thought about buying it ourselves but its all too expensive and even if we could we wouldn't have the skilled labour, pattern graders and cutters, people don't know how to make and finish things to a high standard anymore its a great shame and we will have to take our business abroad.... again!
