A new movie in development at the moment starring Jon Heder- all the televisions in the world go black and the sound is replaced by Buddy Holly performing live from Ganymede- a moon of Jupiter... you can check out a trailer here: http://www.aliveandwellmovie.com/development-teaser/ - looks like a fun film

The film is based on a long out of print book but the author put it up for people to read for free as pdfs (you can just print them off or read on your computer)

Use this link from further down in the article dj89 posted, with this one you can choose the format to download - epub works on iBooks, one of the formats (can't remember which) works on Kindle.

(That site is mostly really old out of print books but well worth browsing to see what else is available.)

I've just finished the book and I have to say it's way better than I expected, actually a really good novel and I can see why it's inspired someone to turn it into a film. There are some brilliant characters and genuinely terrific twists and turns in the plot; well recommended.

I've just won a copy of the novel - a leather-bound signed first edition, no less, via a competition on Twitter. It was even posted by the author himself (His name and address in Texas were on a sticky label on the package) - now that's what I call service!
