I saw it last year I think, seems to have come on TV really quickly.. I thought it was very good, when you consider it was mainly James Franco and the elements!! I read somewhere that people fainted in the audience when the arm scene came on.. didn't think it was that gruesome meself, all the same its incredible that someone could do that but he'd have died otherwise and now he's married with a family ! :)

I thought it was really well done. And even though I knew it would all end OK I couldn't stop a few tears rolling down my cheeks at the end.

Reckon I'm getting soppy in my old age!

i remember watching 'Touching The Void' a couple of years ago and thinking how can anyone survive that?
I suppose you'd never know what you would do unless you are in that situation, i mean, it took the bloke in 127 hours a couple of days to think ' i know , i'll cut my own arm off' ! think i would have done the same really, the only other options would have been wiating for someone to hopefully pass by, or just wait to die!
tempted to go and get the book now!

This reminds me of the Stephen King short story, 'Survivor Type' where a shipwrecked bloke starts eating himself to keep himself alive.
At the end he's just a head and an arm (I don't think that one was a true story)
