I think the next lesson is going to be about family and marital fidelity and August will be needing his Dad to prove hissel

It was funny. She does the autistic/Asperger's thing very well. Not sure if the online girlfriend is a red herring or not but it means something I'm sure. I was a bit suspicious of the long haired journalist (terrible with names - sorry) but now the posh journalist is dead I am not so sure about that now either. We will find out soon!

could be either the online gf or the creepy salesman, or they could throw something else in. are they one and the same ? i'm always suspicious of guessing these shows, they can chuck some other strand in anytime they fancy. of course, the baddie didn't kill martin when he could have, so it does indicate that it's his old pal.

and yeah that coffee break was excellent :*:

seen it now..phew.. such alot happens in each episode! there are only two left    I also have my suspicions about August's online girlfriend and now there is the connection with martin's old colleague this could make more sense.. we shall see. We're probably all wrong but so what, its such a good series , knocks spot off anything else at the moment.... looking forward to following this thread next week (once i've seen them all ! )

Well, it's over...
These 2 episodes had so much of a darker tone. There were echoes of The Vanishing (original) and Seven. The bit with the grenade was horrible, though. Interesting to see Saga's emotional development. Looking forward to season 2.

you were so right EM..

and I agree with you too boltonlass, I definitely thought of the Vanishing when i saw poor August... (the dutch original of course!) i think it was good that they didn't shy away from the dark ending. I'm really gutted its finished now, feel like i've been on a long journey since the original episode... and it was only in the penultimate episode that it all pointed to Martin... him and his extra marital flings!

Yes it certainly is a warning not to dabble in extra marital affairs. The last couple of episodes were gripping and I am sorry it is finished. Do you think both Saga and Martin will be in the next series? It was a sad ending but it was right. If everything had turned out well it wouldn't have been as powerful. What will I watch now??

I think they will; they're making a new one to be out next year. I'm not sure I've watched a character as compelling as Saga for a long time - brilliant stuff and very moving in the last episodes (when she cried when the boss said he was going and on the bridge not lying to Martin)

There's another one starting on Saturday: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01jg0sw

Let's see who turns up in that!

shame about poor august. the bit where the baddie got him out of the car was really distressing.

One of the best things I've watched for a long time. Have heard that there will be a second series next year and also an English/French remake to be called The Tunnel.
Been trying to think who they will get to play Saga and Martin :eh?
