At the risk of sounding like one of those awful ITV shows, where the top 5 ''Of All Time'' always end up as the 5 best sellers from last year, which are your Top 5?

I'll be back with mine later

Based around little thought - just the first five to appear out of my grey matter...

One Few Over The Cuckoos Nest

The Blues Brothers

2001 A Space Odyssey

Brief Encounter

Local Hero

Hear My Song

In the end I was prompted by my FB page...

I'm no cinema lover, but the few DVDs I have I watch once and again. My top five would be:

My Fair Lady
The Sound of Music
City Lights
A Hard Day's Night
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

(In spite of appearances, I'm not especially in favour of musicals).

American Graffiti - I first saw it , the day before I went to University....severe synchronicity.
Gregory's Girl - I met Claire Grogan the day after I saw it at a cinema in York, when Altered Images played at Tiffany's in Leeds. Love at first sight, and I still haven't gotten over it/her....sigh.
Splendour in the Grass - Natalie Wood/Warren Beattie. Very reminiscent of "The Bell Jar".
Animal House - I could almost quote it from start to finish.
Brigadoon - My favourite musical.
