Picked up a copy of the DVD Sound City yesterday - documentary about the Sound City Studios (by Dave Grohl) that was previewed at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. I found it quite interesting and well worth a watch. The Neve analogue mixing desk is at the heart of the documentary which is actually quite a funny, sad but interesting history of the studio. I was surprised at the range of musicians who'd recorded there (including Barry Manilow, Nirvana/QOTSA, Fleetwood Mac, Rage against the Machine and Neil Young) You wouldn't put that lot in a room together would you!
