I should carry these around for when I meet transplants and hipsters who can't understand why I grew up 50 miles away, but barely saw the place in the 70s. And while I was intrigued, and longed to go to the rock clubs, I wasn't brave enough to move there as a young adult. I worked in city during the mid-eighties to nineties, still rough times. So much changes every day. ~ K |

Those fireman, so many were my friend's fathers. They and the cops would live far, to keep their families safe. So many of those buildings now, you couldn't rent a 1 bedroom for under a few thousand. It's still a crazy jumble, but I love that as a woman now, I can go out late at night, all over town, and I feel safer than anywhere in the burbs. |
