Nice find. Some very powerful images there.

I should carry these around for when I meet transplants and hipsters who can't understand why I grew up 50 miles away, but barely saw the place in the 70s. And while I was intrigued, and longed to go to the rock clubs, I wasn't brave enough to move there as a young adult. I worked in city during the mid-eighties to nineties, still rough times. So much changes every day.

Those fireman, so many were my friend's fathers. They and the cops would live far, to keep their families safe. So many of those buildings now, you couldn't rent a 1 bedroom for under a few thousand. It's still a crazy jumble, but I love that as a woman now, I can go out late at night, all over town, and I feel safer than anywhere in the burbs.
