Received my copy of the DVD about Gene Clark last week and have already watched it twice. A long overdue account of Gene's life with contributions from friends, family and former bandmates including David Crosby, Barry Maguire and Chris Hillman. I found it really interesting to hear from his children and ex-wife who saw a different side to him from those in the music business. A sad tale but a good watch - if I had a criticism it would be that perhaps more time could have been given to celebrate his undoubted songwriting talent but would recommend it.

No I haven't read the book but will have a look for a copy. Watching the DVD set me off listening to my CDs (which I have to thank Exapno for recommending a few years back!) and tracks on YouTube over the weekend. I love the White Light demos CD and the later Gypsy Angel demos CD, beautiful, beautiful music but heartwrenching - I haven't been able to listen to the Gypsy Angel one all the way through. Such a talented guy, a really sad end to his life.
