Papers schmapers. TV is where it's at, and this is the best thing that's ever been on the telly. Maybe.

That's very, very funny – I have a friend who's a karoke queen – at every opportunity, she'll do Blanket on the Ground. And she's proper good too. Did you listen to my drunk radio presenter woman? That's very funny too, although a trifle sad...

Anyway, haven't you got anything better to do on your birthday? What you doing to celebrate? Monkey's don't often make it to 37... you'll make the cover of National Geographic... x

Karoke dude is probably better than Bon Jovi, has better hair anyway. And I work from home Monday so I was in fact typing that message in my pants listening to Rod Stewart rather loudly.

Anyway, hope you have a lovely day when you do eventually get out of work. x

Did you see the Paxman thing Nick? It's just really refreshing to hear someone telling it like it is, in language that everyone understands. There has been a debate raging among my leftie friends about him. I just think it's nice to listen to politics from someone that you already know is a bit of a prat, has been a sexist and sexually unpleasant, rather than discover it later about someone that you thought was spot on but is in fact an amoral prick.

I think he has a fantastic turn of phrase. He was talking about Who Do You Think You Are, which Paxman appeared on. It's a programme that I just don't like but could never put my finger on why.

Brand said: "I remember I seen you in that program where you look at your ancestors and you saw the way your grandmother would have to brass herself or had to have got fucked over by the aristocrats who ran her gaff, and you cried because you knew that it was unfair and unjust. And that was, what was that, a century ago? That’s happening to people now. I just come from a woman who’s being treated like that. I just been talking to a woman today who’s being treated like that. So if we can engage that feeling, instead of some moment of lachrymose sentimentality trotted out on the TV for people to pore over emotional porn, if we can engage that feeling and change things, why wouldn’t we? Why is that naive? Why is that not my right because I’m an actor? I mean, I, I’ve taken the right. I don’t need the right from you. I don’t need the right from anybody. I’m taking it."

Lachrymose sentimentality and emotional porn. That is so why I don't like it. Here's some bad stuff they used to do earlier... I just think the whole interview is great stuff. x

Robert Fisk has written a couple of great pieces in the Independent about poppy wearing.

Thought provoking. Brought tears to my eyes...

So we've got so tired of waiting for the ill-fated trams in Edinburgh, that folk have started using the stops for other purposes!

He seems like a right sanctimonious knob..

Hmmm? Poppycock!

My Grandfather fought at the Somme and lost his arm and his brother lost his life and i'm not sure I agree with this.

The Poppy symbolises the remembrance of the populous, whether poor, middle class, snooty fucks etc...

Why dose's everything have to be belittled in the name of journalism, we know what they are like...

Wear your poppy , don't believe the bollocks...

no disrespect intended, just my opinion.

much love xxx
