i'm not there

me an my gal went to see it last night in manc. i enjoyed it lots but wondered if it would make sense to my missus who avowedly can't stand bob (it's his voice). she loved it and said it didn't matter that she didn't get the references or relevance of particular scenes/lines and that it was a top film all round.

good soundtrack too, but there is debate about whether they stick too closely to the originals. discuss.

go see quickly, i doubt it will be in cinemas for long. last night in manchester tonight. it's in sheffield somewhere i know.

i got home and immediately put the '66 free trade hall cd on........of course.

i used to listen to the bootleg when it was "the albert hall" and was chuffed to find it was really from manchester.

have you seen the book about the gig by local historian c.p.lee ? a bit worthy, but if you're a fan....

and erpisle norrid's older brother was at the gig !

i love the film - especially the whole Richard Gere section where he's wandering through a town which is essentially the Basement Tapes come to life. I thought the whole thing was beautifully done. Seen it twice.
