So Eoin, what did you reckon to the film? My fella thought the ending a bit cr*p.

Saw it yesterday - and thought it lovely, if a trifle long. My fella's comment? ' Too much caution - not enough lust!'.

have you been following me  I'm just in the door ten minutes from seeing it.

Thought it was very very good.

The only critisicim I would have is that it took a good bit to get going but in fairness thats probably not important as everything that happened in that period was crucial to the story.

It ticked all the boxes as to why I like films and the Coen's work in particular. Managed to be Gruesome, hilarious, kinda scary and powerful with brilliant characters the whoile deal.

The acting was superb and the character Javier Bardem played will be remembered for a LONG while by people who seen this film  having said that Josh Brolin was brilliant every bit as good as Javier too and Tommy Lee Jones well you tend to expect greatness and you we got it. Can't say I agree at all with your fellas opinion in regards to the ending people might have been expecting a bullet in the head for someone or something more dramatic but I like the fact that they leave you thinking about what might have happened, its sometimes what they don't show you which is what is more important. Anyway thats my best Barry Norman impression, loved it, go see !

ditto - it delivered on every level and to me the ending was exactly what you want, need, and should get with more films. loved it loved it loved it in fact I might have to go and get me another looksie.

Only criticism was the dialogue was a little muffled at times, tommy lee especially. Javier B is something else in this-he usually is in every film I've seen him in (all of em  )

I'm hoping the new one will blow that out of the water, I'm fully prepared to go to the cinema and have my socks blown off.

Agree 100%

Superb film (bit of a cinematic rarity these days) - dialogue was a bit hard to follow at times - as for the ending - well I didn't think there was an ending - the enveloping darkness, which told us it was time to leave, just meant we didn't get to see how things went - perfect.

Absolutely perfect film. I think the ending was deliberate. We have been trained to expect certain things from the end of films, and fitting with the theme of the book/film that rule was thrown out here.
Admittedly I was a bit thrown off by the ending, but then I realised I was supposed to be. Just like you could be blamed for expecting a happy ending and having the lead guy escape with the money and living happily ever after, there were no definitive answers here, like in real life - irrespective of our expectations, life/death will take its own course.

won a few Oscars last night, Bardem best supporting Actor, Best Picture, Best Adapted screenplay and the Coen's won best director. Not mad into awards but in the world of hollywood and all that bullshit so great to see a film like that get the ultimate recognition and especially as I've been a fan of their films for ages. Masterpiece Dave ? defo.

*finally* got to see it this afternoon. Oh aye. I loved the ending as well. I haven't squirmed at a scene so much as I have during that scene near the start with the old guy in the petrol station. Yikes.

Brilliant, easily in the top 3 of theirs. They have atoned for their recent sins.
