Anyone watch the first episode about Steptoe tonight? It was really good. Looking forward to David Walliams playing Frankie Howerd.

It was...I didn't realise that there was such a sadness about Wilfred Bramble. Or that Harry H Corbett wasn't a very nice person at all.

Very much enjoyed it, but i'd have linked it to be at least 30mins longer, there was so much more to say and explore about those people and characters.

What was great was the hour long interview with Galton and Simpson later on. If Python are the Beatles of Comedy, they are the Elvis of comedy. Two of the all time greats, Hancock remains in my mind the greatest comedy creation of all tim, especially on radio.

Hancock & Joan tonight has been one of the best things on the telly in a long while .Ken Stott was brilliant as Hancock and the 1960's atmosphere was gently evoked .

i don;t like these programmes its very unbalanced i think they must have had a laugh on the way,i have been in situations where things go strange with bands/artists and its never a one sided doom and gloom affair there are always other things going on

I'm sure you're right , it wasn't all dreary and depressing, but the intention is to focus on the dark side of things and I think the programmes convey that very well.

It's a pity that none of the people featured are around to redress the balance.

to be fair, Hancock werent exactly a ray of sunshine in private - i think thats common knowledge. it was a pretty well made piece but like all these films it just made me did out Hancock's Half Hour to watch the original - and its a damn sight funnier too.
