Anyone subscribed to Colin Vearncombe's Blacklist gets free downloads from him from time to time.

The latest is available from here:

http://www.colinvearncombe.com/download ... -the-river

You just give a valid email address and a link is sent to you to download, and the song is lovely, typical Black style, slow and melodic.

Two songs this month.

And it is well worth subscribing to this list, they are quality tracks each time.

I feel the weight of your heart
And I know a way it can change
I know the weight of your heart
I know a way we can rise

I first saw him do Sweetest Smile live on some TV programme.

With my first real music from Scott Walker, it all kind of leads up to the Cousteau obsession!

I always liked the Black stuff but a few years ago he did a double album all acoustic called Smoke Up Close which is really brilliant.

New album free to download (although you can contribute) . Note that the full album download is not working so if you want it you need to submit for each individual song.

Colin has just launched a download only compilation album.

"The download is available in a range of user-selectable audio file formats (for the audiophiles out there) and is bundled with a 21 page pdf booklet of liner notes, photographs, artwork and lyrics. We are planning to make physical formats available at a later date, but for now the download is the only option available.

Going for a Song
The cost for the 16 track album is £7.50. However during the launch phase you can, if you have the right discount code, download it for the price of a song."

The code can be found by searching his posts on his Facebook page (Black aka Colin Vearncombe).
