I wonder if anyone on here has heard of a band called The Hours ?.I was at a gig in York mebbe 2 years ago and after the gig ended the dj came on,i heard this really nice song and enquired as to who it was by,the track was Back When You Were Good, from an album called Narcissus Road, anyway i looked up the band on the internet,1 of the members has Sheffield connections, hence the question.

they are indeed very good. Anthony & Martin Slattery were in Joe Strummers band The Mescaleros and I kind of found out about the Hours through that connection. Ended up being at their launch gig in London at The Luminaire back about 3 years ago, way before the album came out and they were extremly impressive. The album when it came along was fucking class and they have a new single out now and a new album soon too I think, check em out here... www.myspace.com/TheHours

Yes. I know Martin Slattery very well - used to play with him when he was playing Alto Saxophone - then he turned his hand to keyboards for Black Grape, then guitar. The talented fekker. :*:

The Hours' "Ali in the Jungle" from Narcissus Road is bloody brilliant, so will have to get the new album. Thanks for posting about the newer stuff! :D
