I saw a great band last night supporting the cold light of day at The Johnson Arms in Nottingham called - J Maiden and the Voice of Reason. Check them out they kinda had a nick cave meets the pogues vibe about them live.

Eh up,
We tryed to book them for this months gig with us (The Listeners) and The Cubical (http://www.myspace.com/thecubicalthecubical ) but they cant make it now and we are booked up for the rest of the year so im sorry to say they wont be playing our night at all! Its a shame as they are even better live then recorded. Oh well we have The Cubical this month - The Cold light of day and the tenebrous liar in september - David Rykba and the victorian dad band in october and The Lucid dream in november - so the rest of the year looks pretty special anyway! Hope you can make it down to all of them.

shame they can't play sooner, will have to keep an eye out for other gigs they may do... your line up for this year looks rare good, The Cubical are a top band, just trying to plan a long weekend around then to get to see some Sheffield [and beyond] music, its either that or a road trip across France, fookin decisions... :?
