We all did - well me Mr L his mate TLC and their Wives [may have married TLC off there].

Just realised I have not written a review of the gig - here's one - well almost a review I made to another message board...

A tragedy - I haven't seen Hawkwind since my first gig as a youth - I placed them in a box - alongside 'One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest' - not to be opened but preserved as a memory - so next time I'll have to go see 'em

I saw J. D. McPherson at Mancland Deaf Institute on Thursday - a memorable evening if you like retro rockabilly with a twist - loved the whole damn thing - a drummer with @$%&! all kit shaking maracas playing with one stick half the time - that just @$%&! does it for me - big slap ass double bass - a nut job on the keys - a swish sway cool dude on the sax - and the guy with the greetar and vocal that knows he's the man but loves to be part of the band...

But for me the drummer geezer made it.

A google image search for Jason Smay threw this up - at 56 I'm 16 again - he's the @$%&! business.

Went to Manchester,
The Deaf Institute is a superb venue and really suited the band.
J.D. and the gang were awesome, despite most of them having the cold.
Bass player Jimmy Sutton stole the show for me, fantastic playing & stage presence.
Got to meet J.D. afterwards and the missus got her pic taken with him.,
I even managed to pass my bands business card to J.D's tour manager! :D

I really should post under my real name - this is from the Ian Hunter website - I remember a while back meeting up with folks at a bar in Glasgow before a gig - with people shouting 'fluffy!' as I entered the place - I thought I was going to get stomped on...

Much prefer being hailed as 'the dog' <thank you Little Dickie>

He did. Jason had his Ludwig 60's kit.

Saw JD in Oxford last week. Played 90 minutes and it was over in a flash. A lot of songs played are not on the album so perhaps more to come as the album's almost 2 years old now.

Found this with JD talking about his Telecaster http://vimeo.com/56110405
