They sounded great with Steve Lamacq and there was yet another spin for September Song. They have just confirmed a Manchester date for Thursday 13th March. Shame we hadn't nailed it in time for Steve to give it a mention...

The postman (or woman, didn't look) just kindly popped this through my letterbox. That's me sorted for the weekend (and the next few months)...

There's a free download of It Must Be Love on their Soundcloud page.

The Hosts' next single is to be a re-issue of Give Your Love To Her, taken from their debut album Softly, Softly.

It isn't released until the 5th May, but has already been made record of the week by Shaun Keaveny on his BBC Radio 6 Music Breakfast Show...

Saw these guys last night (or rather 2/5ths of them) at the first Sheffield Sofar sounds night. Great night of music kicked off by Neil McSweeney accompanied by Sam Sweeney and a few classical pieces on the piano by Jonny from Screaming Maldini.

Will be investing in Softly, Softly soon.

I got wind of this through The Hosts Facebook page - not that I could have got there - but I bet it was great.

House looked nice to from the pics posted later

Softly Softly is a class record - at least four real old time pop hits - a plaintive ballad coming in a 90 seconds - and a Roy Orbison cover.

Now a Hawley tour with these as openers would be a bit good...

Mind you would also like to catch a full set by them.
