I follow the cowparade every year when I get the chance. I have photos from Manchester, Monaco, Edinburgh, Milan and Marseilles cowparades on my website, which also has other photos on it.
Hoping to go to Madrid or Capri this year to see the parades there.

Cheers for that - I'd never heard of a cow parade, although I've seen those cows all over the place - there's a spectacular one outside of La Scala in Milan - is that part of the same thing? Must do some research! :D

Not sure, but possibly. At the end of the Cow parade, they get auctioned off for charity. Designed one for Edinburgh, but unfortunately not chosen. I live in hope for the next British one. :)

I've been having a look around and I came across this...

Image

Title: Jersey Cow
Location: Malmaison
Designer: Jarvis & Camille Cocker
Artist: Zimeon Jones
Sponsor: Malmaison

Jarvis Cocker's signature garment is a jersey and this cow's wearing one. This easy-going garment shows how people and artefacts can take on new life, just as the Malmaison gave new life to the cotton warehouse it inhabits.

Good, no? :D :*:

I remember seeing those cows in Manchester a few years ago. I didn't find out what is was all about until a long time later. They are so cute. :)

Actually forgot about the Jarvis cow, as unfortunately, I never got to see it in Manchester. The cows would sometimes be moved to new locations. After 3 solid days walking around looking for cows, my long suffering partner couldn't take any more. And when i suggested we get the train to Manchester Airport to see the ones there...

My new flat is adorned with over 40 figurine versions of them (even one in my bathroom!) My partner is a patient man...

Finally got confirmation of Cow Parade Madrid. It's going to be in October so I hope it fits in with half term :D
Now I just need to decide where to go this summer. Usually Cow parade decides for us.

Just bringing this over here as they are doing a Cow Parade sort of thing with the Super Lamb Banana in Liverpool, it was on the telly yesterday morning. I must get over to Liverpool and have a look. :)

This is probably the most surreal thread I have ever read.

I'm going to have to fit in time to go and see that. Was going to design one, but couldn't think of a good idea.
Somewhere else is having a parade called Go Elephants - i think it's Norwich. Couldn't think of an idea for that either.
I have my cow idea all ready and waiting. It even has its own myspace.
Come on Britain, have another Cow Parade!
