'Tonight the Streets Are Ours', last Saturday in a wedding I attended in Germany. It wasn't a big surprise, though, since guests had been asked to send five songs of their choice each. Guess who suggested this one.

I'm sure I heard an instrumental version of 'I Sleep Alone' on Countryfile the other day.

About 30 secs of "The Wood Colliers Grave" was used in "Britain's Big Wildlife Revival" episode 4 on BBC1 Sunday 8th September.
I wasn't sure at first (snoozing) but, thanks to iPlayer, found it 43:55 in.

Less than five minutes ago: 'Seek It' as background music of a piece of news about how the heating of seas is affecting coral... Or something like that (I wasn't paying any attention to the TV until I have recognized the song).

The intro to Born Under A bad Sign is being used as theme music to new Radio 4 comedy ''Tom Wrigglesworth's Hang Ups'', broadcast at 6.30pm Wednesdays. Only the first one this week, but so far it's quite funny. :)

How do artists monitor royalties through their songs being played on tv shows etc?

I'm sure RH watching Cash in the Attic most days but how would he know if someone used a song and didnt pay for it? Is it someones job to watch everything with a tick sheet?

Thoughts?

I believe any music used in shows or on radio has to be listed and reported to the Performing Rights Society who then pay the artist.

True - for my band's CD, which has digital distribution I can access lists of every 0.01 pence that we get for every 10 or so plays on Spotify....

Waiting on a Scott Walker tribute (4/5) the DJ played "Something Is". Also played Divine Comedy, Brel, Francoise Hardy and Pulp.

I swear I had nothing to do with it.

Backing track for 'She Brings The Sunlight' played on Nigel and Adam's Farm Kitchen (BBC One) last night.

Must have missed this last Summer - but it's back for Winter.

Obviously not filmed at Sheffield Centre Ibis next to the Norfolk Arms - but next time I stay there I'll be looking for a discount  :eye: :cyclopsani:
