Me too, we spent two weeks in Mallaig 30 years ago and visited the beach at Morar just down the road a lot. It is beautiful there with the white sands. I wish it was not so far away, but it is better as it is unspoilt due to its location. Watching Local Hero recently it is incredible that in the film the people actually want to sell out for as much money as they can get rather than protest about the development.

We visited Pennan more recently, another wonderful place.

We don't do mountain climbing, but we do like a stroll and to gaze at the mountains in awe.

How's about Strome Castle near Plockton? I took these 2 as a panoramic shot 10 years ago and they seem to go together pretty well

My daughter is up in Boat of Garten at the moment, and I am on dog-sitting duties. I would have loved to go too.

We used to travel miles every day when we were on holiday in Scotland. We went two years ago and did more walking due to the cost of fuel, and enjoyed it just the same. I love Scotland.

I went right to the top at Durness and Tongue too

It's a bit dark - but I do like the contrast.....

Taken on the road between Tongue and Lairg, just up the hill from Tongue.

I stayed at my favourite Scottish village for 3 nights - Plockton near Kyle

Wow, great pictures. There is something about the moody dark skies you see in Scotland, very atmospheric.
