It seems as though every ferry is packed with schoolchildren this time of the year - we were no exception. We took 140-ish Y9 pupils (14 year olds) to France for a week - Rouen, Granville, St. Malo, Omaha Beach, WW2 cemeteries and Disneyland. Very tiring - being on duty all day, going to bed in the early hours after the little dears have finally gone to sleep and then getting up an hour before them, to make sure they surface in time for the coach...
Very rewarding though, and I wouldn't miss it for the world - we go on alternate years to Germany and France. This is my seventh consecutive year and in some years I've gone on a couple of trips...
