I lived in West Hampstead some years ago, the part I was in was between West Hampstead Tube and Finchley Road tube and was a very nice area.

But as with all cities, there are mixed parts to each area.

If you are to be close to either of those tube stations it's not far to Central London (and there's a good bus service from Finchley Road).

co80521 should know Ida, she's from Camden which I believe is not that far away.

Are you coming to live in England?

I can only vouch for hampstead heath, but it's very nice there. Especially Parliament hill on a sunny day.

Fell in love there once

I believe the hilarious spoof docu / comedy 'West Heath Yard' was filmed in West Hampstead at Edwyn Collins studio, sadly could only find this clip

I used to get spooked by that as a child. My mum bought me a little cream mack (a bit like Colombo's) which I called my Charley Farley coat.

Ah yes....Milligan, Cleese, Everett....Sessions.

Spike Milligan lived in Finchley which is just about where this thread began.

I didn't realise the Raspberry Blower was his creation until I watched the YouTube clip. Now it all makes sense.....sort of. :eh?
