Post subject:  Best beach in Britain

Looking at all those wonderful photos of last weekend's trips to the beach, I thought I'd start a thread about the best beaches in Britain. I love this place - it's not on a road and you have to walk half an hour to get to it. It almost feels Mediterranean, but Barafundle is in Pembrokeshire.

If you're ever in that part of the world, I can't recommend it enough.

Almost any beach in Northumberland - this one is at a place called Low Newton / Dunstanburgh.

I like Bude - many happy holidays in the rain and cold there (and the odd sunny one too)

Those northern beaches look unbelievable, if not a little chilly. I'd love to take a trip up there.

I opened this thread just to say Barafundle as it is one of my favourite beaches in Britain. I have this photo on my livingroom wall along with one I took in barbados and there is very little between them.

My seaside wedding is in 6 weeks time and all of the tables are named after British beaches... :*:

Porth Neigwl, Abedaron or Llanbedrog on the Lleyn Peninsula in North Wales (sorry no photos, still not sure how to do it...)

I am on holiday this week and hoping to get to the seaside tomorrow. The Lleyn peninsular is the only place mentioned within striking distance from here, but that's too far with the price of fuel. We might get as far as Llandudno.

To post a picture just click on the Img button copy the website and post it after the [img] ant appears, then click Img button again and it should appear. Here is Porth Neigwl. Don't think we have been there, we found parking a problem when we stayed in that area on holiday.

Nowt wrong with Llandudno - we spent our honeymoon there almost 20 years ago - altho' the Best Man said in his speech we should have gone to Prestatyn
