How about these instead of crocs? :ncool:

Repulsive, but at least no exposure of hairy toes!

I'm not good at packing - or rather at picking the right things. The last time I went on a holiday that deserved its name (Brittany, two weeks in 1992) I forgot to pack my swimming trunks. I earned some bewildered looks when I confessed that it just didn't occur to me that we (then girl-friend, me, plus another couple) might go swimming there.

It was all downhill from there ...

And he has also bought these for our holiday...

Stilettos, yes. These? No.

If it goes on like this, I'm calling in marriage guidance...

Very George Michael, circa 1983......

My sister has a massive crush on George Michael. Drunk conversations at Xmas always end with her saying she reckons she could turn him if only she had the chance and her husband saying maybe he's met you and that's what put him off women in the first place. Like clockwork, every year, comedy gold.

I might leave them out in the garden and hope the rabbits eat them...

Hi everyone! Haven't been on here for ages. I'm off on holiday to Corsica. Just qualified as a primary school teacher so I'm going to enjoy the Summer!

I stayed here last year - http://www.hotel-luetzow.de/default.aspx?lang=en Functional clean and quiet rooms in a residential area. Great little bakery round the corner and an Italian and a Greek restaurant up the road. Nearest U-Bahn is about 10 minutes walk away.

Quiet hotel in a side street, but 5 minutes walk from Berlin Zoo, Gedächtniskirche and Kurfürstendamm.

Loads to do in Berlin - Museum Insel (Island) is where the main museums are. The Ramones Museum is ace - it's a little cafe rammed with Ramones memorabilia about 400 yards from Museum Insel.
The area around Checkpoint Charlie is tacky but essential - head along the street at 90 degrees to Koch Strasse and visit the Topography of Terror - the longest surviving stretch of the Berlin wall.
Hansa Studios where Bowie and Iggy Pop and many others recorded is near to Potzdamer platz (There's a great ice-cream restaurant nearby too). You can get tours of the studios but only on certain days - not sure which. The Helmut Newton photography gallery/museum is interesting. The Sony centre is quite modern but is OK in a humungous mall type way.

It's a great city for "bummeln" - wandering, taking in the scenery.

My photos from last summer

8 millimetre bar....the Berliner....although that may be gone now sadly Berlin is magical if you look through the telescope the right way so to speak

When in Berlin we visited the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp - an hour away by train, and totally worth a visit - we joined a group at the station and had a guide. Haunting, eerily quiet, and a grim reminder of past horrors.

My travel tips? Get your stuff together by starting from your feet upwards: shoes, socks ..... hat. And I find rolling your clothes really enables you to get far more in!
