I think they were saying it's starting the plant off at the same time as leaving the ashes, rather than an already established plant. |

I love Bamburgh, but it has been around 15 years since I visited. The castle is an awesome place to wonder around. Shame the weather was shite when we were there, so we couldn't really enjoy a day on the beautiful expansive beach. It was a good job there was a lot to see, such as the Farne Islands, Seahouses and Lindesfarne. We keep saying were gonna go back, but still haven't made it

Going up there again in July in the tourer we had a wonderful time up there last year, such beautiful beaches & scenery so cant wait. Bamburgh is stunning & collected a zillion shells from the beach now all in my garden.

Bamburgh Beach is beautiful, looking back on my first marriage, our week on holiday there is my only happy memory. Anyway don't tell everyone about it. I want my ashes throwing off the West Pier at Whitby, although I wasn't born there, it is the place I still call home, unfortunately I rarely have time to vist and no family there now. Cheers BB |

Visited the area last weekend and the weather was fantastic which in turn made everywhere really stunning. Long walks along lovely beaches which took me straight back to my childhood. My Dad worked at Ashington colliery and we used to visit the area a long time ago, if you get a chance visit Woodhorn Museum, my Dad lived in Woodhorn Road, very interesting and also shows all sorts of things including the Sheffield miners from those dark days in the 80's. Hope to go back for a longer stay as there was so much to see

They have the old union banners on show in the museum and they look so fantastic. You feel you want to reach out and touch them and all that history would just run straight through you!! Loads of people walking dogs on the beach, right down your street Richard..........And I'm sure there would be inspiration for a song or two.

Haven't been to Woodhorn in ages, think it's been changed in the interim since the Archives moved there, but well worth a visit. Bamburgh is beautiful and atmospheric - and if you go try and make it along to Dunstanburgh Castle as well - a gloomy day is best, highly likely, really creates a sense of remoteness (despite the golf course). Rather fancy a trip along the coast when I'm up at Christmas |

It's been a few years since I've been. Must definitely go again soon. It has the most fantastic beaches and they always seem vast and empty. No crowds, beautiful scenery. Ace. |

Like Ex says, Dunstanburgh is the place to go if you want atmospheric ruins - although impressive, Bamburgh is relatively new Either place will afford you wonderful, wild craggy beaches and you'll be spoilt for good pubs and excellent sea food. I am sooooooo lucky, having the coast on my door step....I head there a lot, and have a long walk along the sea front every New Year's Eve - kind of keeps you in touch with the sort of stuff that's important. |

What 'Mags' & 'Exapno' said, im lucky enough to work up in Alnwick & Morpeth occasionally and i always take the coastal route home. Walkworth & Seahouses.. beautiful Seaton Sluice, if you wanna whale in batter with yer chips, go to the Waterford Arms.. |
