I was over in the Lakes last weekend for the Cumbrian launch of a new charity called Friends of High Borrans. It is great to find out that Richard has agreed to become a patron of the said charity. It's aim is to ensure greater access to the High Borrans Outdoor Education Centre for all young people in North Tyneside, especially those who are socially excluded or disadvantaged.I failed to win the Richard Hawley t-shirt for incorrectly guessing the number of toy pets in the jar but enjoyed the fine food and drinks served over the weekend.I also enjoyed the hill walking near Kirkstone Pass and the canoeing on High Borrans Lake. It's a fantastic place and even the weather was kind.We hope to make this an annual event.Any excuse to experience the great outdoors!
