Love walking in the hills. It calms me. All my worries drift away and even the big ones feel easier to cope with. There are loads I love in the Lake District and Peak District. We also did some of Hadrian's Wall last Easter. A bit bleak at times but the history is fascinating. Lakes this Easter. Tarn Hows, Buttermere, Horseshoe, High Oxen Fell to Ruskin's house (the name escapes me). I like coastal walks too. Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay is one of my favourites. Pembrokeshire Coast is lovely too. Northumberland beaches are often empty and fantastic to walk on. Norfolk is flat but walks around Blakeney and Wells next the Sea are great. You just have to dodge the twitchers.

Beautiful pictures mph. You should get up to the Lakes, efsb. We stay at a place on the side of Catbells above Keswick.

This is the garden. You can walk everywhere from the house, up the mountain and down into the valley next door or down to the river and up to Scafell.

Check out: Image

Gorgeous. And you can walk down into Keswick or catch the steamer across the lake and pie and cake as a reward. Last week, I was talking to my 13 year old son about what his favourite holiday would be and he said Keswick in the dragon house, which is our name for it. Am going in October and I just can't wait.

Always wanted to do Scotland but it's such a mammoth journey for us to even get there. Tell me where's beautiful and easy mph. Am sorely tempted by your Ullapool...x

If you're going to a gig in Holmfirth, make a day or weekend of it. Some great walks and stunning views.

Don't walk too much anymore, more into cycling, which around here is......challenging!

The 2014 Tour de France starts in Leeds and goes through Holmfirth.

This is looking towards Holmfirth from our bedroom window.

I did a nice bit of the southern coastal path with my Mum. She walks around the whole of the south coast. At one point the path disappeared and was completely overgrown and a deer jumped out right in front of us. Totally amazing.

If you go on proper walk there's always a moment when you feel like this guy.

Helen, I'd break the journey on the way up and stop at Melrose. The kings arms is good. There's more boutique hotels if you want to splash the cash. Melrose is a nice wee town. It would take about 4/5 hours from there to Ullapool. Good base for touring round up there. The ceilidh place is supposed to be the best hotel in Ullapool. Other places to consider are Skye and applecross. The drive to applecross is spectacular but not for those of a nervous disposition. Slighachan inn on Skye and the applecross inn are worth checking out.

Skye is wonderful. Had a holiday there a few years ago and nicknamed it Skyos it was so warm and sunny. We went at Easter and the landlady at the B&B said that is the best time weather wise. Sheep and sea. I just loved walking in the hills with all the sheep and looking down at the sea. Awesome.

no, it's all new stuff but there is a little second hand book shop there, a charity shop that sells second hand books and another proper book shop.

Too far to travel for me (I don't drive) but if I'm ever up that way I'll make a point of looking up those shops :D

There are trains that go to Scotland although not to Ullapool. The trip from Fort William to Mallaig is one of the best in the world, the views are fantastic as well as going over the Glenfinnan viaduct. You can go over to Skye by ferry from Mallaig. We spent two weeks in Mallaig when the car broke down and got about using public transport.

I recognised Slioch, I have a picture by the computer desk. I don't plan on climbing it. The scenery around there is breathtaking.
