What a tragedy. One of the finest actors of our time. Perhaps THE finest actor of our time. Very sad news.

Very sad news... Undeniably a super talented character actor one of the greatest of my generation.. I first saw him way back in a supporting role as Brad in the Big Lebowski... A monster of a hilarious movie and subsequently so many other times in so many great roles.... A sad end to a great actor. rIP

I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Really sad news, he played so many varied roles and was brilliant in all of them. The Big Lebowski is one of my all time favourite films, and he was great in that. And I particularly loved him as Lester Bangs in Almost Famous - I've seen and heard interviews with the real Lester Bangs since and Philip was spot on. Charlie Wilson's War, Magnolia, Doubt and of course Capote, he was brilliant in everything and one of my favourite actors. Can't believe he's dead at 46

A very sad way to go, if the reports are true.
