Great photos Jan. I would love to visit the Lake District this year, we went for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and had a great time. We went up the Kirststone pass from Ambleside, it was a bit scary!!!

Yes...very nice photos! I haven't been up this neck of the woods for a few years. Last time was with a couple of work colleagues when we climbed to the top of Scafell. Fog was as thick as a bag when we got to the summit - could see bugger all until we dropped below the cloud base again! You looked like you were blessed with much better weather.
Cheers, Steve.

Derwentwater is beautiful. During our Easter trip I'm taking my eldest boy up Cat Bells overlooking the lake. We'll start with a boat ride across from Keswick to Hawes End and then up the fell with our Wagon Wheels and Tizer. It should only take an hour or so. I'll see you at the top, Richard? Might even save you a biccy.

I'd love to walk up with our other two kids and the missus but our little one is only four and he can be a stubborn little bugger. I'll maybe take the whole family up next year.....God willing.

Simple dreams carry us to dawn....

we used to go up and stay in an old farmhouse for a week in the summer, it was near Kendall and I used to love the quietness of it, and being able to get up and just walk in every direction and not see another building or person. Although I did hate seeing all the dead moles tied up in the barbed wire.
