Saw Whitby featured in a cooking programme this week. Consequently I have booked a long weekend there for next March! :D (I can relax now I know I'm definatley going back).

Yes - the Magpie defintely.
And they do fruit cake (or apple pie) with Wensleydale cheese for afters

Nice. I'm taking the kids to flamborough Head for a week in August, something like the 24th. Friends have a really nice caravan there, lovely site, mate's rates!
(will also be staying there in October when I go to the Musicport festival) :D

I'm going on saturday, taking my three moany teenagers and my other half the Mad Southerner who has never been to the East Coast before.
We are staying at Flamborough Head and shall explore Whitby and all it's delights, including the Magpie, Robin Hood's Bay, Daynes Dyke, Boggle Hole, Scarborough, the cliffs at Bempton. We'll go and make rock with our initials in it at the John Bull rock factory.
Ah you can't beat the East Coast in my opinion.
We've had so many lovely holidays there.

It was a lovely day yesterday, Midge Hall was absolutely beautiful even if they had run out of scones :Oink: Weather was just dandy & stopped off at Robin Hoods bay on the way back, might have to go on one of those Fossil Walks before the summer is out looks very good. :D
