At the moment, this is my favorite Hawley album. Come to think of it, it has been my favorite for some time now. Before this, it was the first (mini) album.

Cheers, Steve.

Love this album 9 years ago now and it's where I first heard the Hawley sound - Nights are cold is me fave - 10th anniversary next year must be in line for a 'Special edition' demos/live stuff/ instrumentals etc. from this time - piece from Richard and fans thoughts, rare pics - there you go and all in time for Chrimbo 2011.

There is just something about this album, I love all of Richard`s music, but this one is the one I go back to more than any other.

When I visited Sheffield for the first Devils Arse gig, I actively sought out the location of that album cover and when I found it, I had a photo taken sitting on that same seat by Sharon who still owns it. :)

I was first introduced to Richard's music by this album, not when it was originally released but Winter 2005,songs like"the nights are cold" really made sense,it became one of my favourites, but it was "something is.." which really haunted me,along with"baby, you're my light","love of my life","can you hear the rain, love?","long black train" or the final"the light at the end of the tunnel.."

Memorable.

god is it really nearly ten years old?its a funny little album really,i recorded half of it on my own and about half with the band,i remember vividly recording all of it,it was.....as it is with all albums....exciting and scary all at the same time,it was all very new being solo and i had"got away with it"with the mini album and in fact only released that little record to shut folks up about my songs and didn't expect anyone would actually fuckin like it.....so there i was with a record deal and a completely blank slate for what the record was going to be.....i remember buying an Omnichord and writing No way home in the back room at the old house on Ranby rd literally as i had plugged it in for the first time straight out of the box.....my mrs was cooking and i said"what do you think to that love?"..........she said......."its or8"which in our house thats like being told you are fuckin Mozart.........getting pissed with my manager Graham on his 40th and for some totally unknown reason going to the grave yard with a bottle of whiskey and waking up on a grave stone with the worst hangover known to humanity with a dog licking my face.......and no sign whatsoever of my loyal trusty friend...Graham.............i will have a think about some other stuff and if your bothered i may write it down but if not i will keep it in my head along with all the other shit
