Interesting article in this month's Mojo. "Hawley goes cosmic"!

Richard says in that he decided "to build music around two guitars bass, drums and to see how far we could push it. What would it be like if I ditched the orchestra? What would be left?" "It's got a lot bigger sound ... " "I'm interested more in 'cosmic', there is spatial stuff going on". "John Trier is also credited with 'rocket noises' and lead track 'She Brings The sunlight' is a textured ascension from shadow to light"

Sounds like we're in for something special!

A cover of The Pink Faires 'Uncle Harry's Last Freak Out' could be a contender for any encore on a future tour...

There is an instrumental version last 10 minutes - tho it should be half an hour...

Bring on the rocket noises @ 2.41.

The new issue of Record Collector has a four star review and has an advert to say that there is a big Richard Hawley article in the next issue. Great review. Uncut have given it 7 out of 10 in a full page review including mini interview with Richard.

Ear-meltingly excellent.

I like how "Down in the woods" is built around the riff for the Stooges' "1969" but takes it to a whole new level.

Rated 5-star in today's Guardian and front page panel too. Is this the first time H has made the front page of a national (unless I missed any on street urination or sheep worrying).x

Just read it as well and it's a lovely review. Don't usually read Alexis Petridish cos the sort of hunched shoulders, sick boy, just got out of bed mugshot just gets on me nerves.
But the man does have an effortless use of English, calls the album glowering (love that word), churning and tumultuous. As for enticing Him Indoors into the woods for a bunk up, I have a story about that. But that's for another thread and I need to be really pissed to tell it.x
