Blimey 8) psychedelic alright (*) :thumleft: And echoes of There's A Storm A Coming. I want to hear all the other tracks now, and, as others have said already, can't wait to hear them live.

Yeah it has an awesome vibe to it- definitely psychedelic in a kinda James Bond way (ie: in kind of a violent, dark way, not sunshine, lollipops and rainbows)- with the cool descending riff and the great guitar playing- looking forward to hearing the rest of the album!

Like the lyrics very much, sort of like the music, bit rockier than my usual choice, will probably grow on me. Downloaded the new Paul weller album which is also psychedelic (so the musos say) but haven't listened to it yet. Maybe it's a right of passage for singer/songwriters of a certain age for be psychedelic, whatever that may be. Anyway, doesn't matter if I like it or not, really. Will wait til I can listen to the whole album, preferably on a grey day in Canning Town, to make up my mind. At least it will dispel my other half's notion that Richard's offerings are music for the menopause. x

I really like it. I think Richard may well get some new (probably younger?) fans of his music if this is representative of the new album. I think it is great that the new album is going in a different direction yet again. I adore Richard's voice so love the slower stuff that really shows it off but I like the fact that this is something different. Really like the music. I am not a musician so won't even attempt to try and sound knowledgeable but I'm lovin' the vibe! Good one, Richard. By the sounds of this the album will definitely be top of my birthday list! :)

Well I've given it half a dozen listens now and the first thing that struck me is what a fantastic song it's going to be in the live shows - something to really bang your head to. :*: You can't say that Mr. Hawley doesn't take us somewhere different with each record.

Really loving the new song. A very different sound, but in a good way, although i do love the 'classic' Hawley sound. Eagerly awaiting the new album. :D

Yes, I agree, I definitely thought there was a touch of "There's A Storm A Coming" in there too, Lofty :)

I heard the full single today on the Tony Fenton Show. I loved it. Very, very diferent. I agree also that it's along the vide of There's A Storm, the version from Brighton Rock. Brilliant :D

I'm proper excited to hear the whole album now I've heard this. It's really full and rich and, you're right, it's going to be immense played live.

Bring it on!!

Ooooo! Just got it to play...and damn. I love a BIG sounding song. Sounds so new and familiar all at once.

Can't crank it up on the little tinkertoy laptop, but I'd rather not play it too much before I have the real thing on the stereo. Just very excited and really hoping either I get there or we get Mr. Hawley back in the States (come on, it's always good for laughs and good deals on vinyl & guitars, right?)
