Seems like Native Records will be putting out the Treebound Story back catalogue

"Native will be making available all of the catalogue of the coming year. First up are Darling Buds, Screaming trees, Smashing orange, Treebound Story (Richard Hawley) and Lucigenic..... more to follow."

Been enjoying the new Mark Lanegan LP, but this is a different (UK) Screaming Trees:

Not heard their stuff, but been tracking down the existing Treebound Story vinyl for a while now, so looking forward to these reissues.

Hmm. Just tried to look at the http://www.nativerecords.co.uk/index.html site, to see if there's any news, and...there's no site!

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage."

The Facebook page is still there, though:

So I suppose that won't be happening, then.

Has anybody heard anything about this, or is it a lost cause?

i think with the passage of time the rights to the recordings probably belong to us now,i think it'd be nice to have some form of re-issues but its difficult as we ended up having bad situations with the record company folks at the time, its so long ago i am not sure it really matters,i still have masters of loads of stuff that was never released, sadly the album we recorded for Native records was lost in a fire i was told............we called it"Butlers cafe"after the legendary cafe we used to hang out in near our rehearsal rooms in Western works the same place Cabaret Voltaire made all their stuff,Richard Kirk is still a friend of mine i see very very infrequently sadly, i virtually lived in the cafe when i lived in Hawley st.....in fact i have a great set of photos we had taken in there somewhere..........although on a brighter note i know i signed a release form for the Peel sessions stuff to come out on strange fruit records several years ago i would love a copy of that but i never heard anything back from them

I sent a quick message to Native via Facebook yesterday, and just received this reply:

-----

Yes they are coming. Been a lot happening so the money got diverted to new bands but we have Darling Buds and Screaming Trees both lined up for September. TBS will take a bit longer because we can't find the artwork.

-----

Could anyone here help with 'the artwork' perhaps?

Looks like someone's been bootlegging:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TREEBOUND-STORY ... 462d71f152

http://www.discogs.com/Treebound-Story- ... se/6105661

If - and only if - there's not going to be an official CD (re)release for this material, maybe one of us should buy a copy and burn it for everyone else? Or we could club together - give the bootlegger the bare minimum and get the music to the fans.

Any thoughts?

Depends. Are you offering to buy it?

Surprised we've had no official word about this one. I'd love to hear that the genuine release is on its way, so we can all keep our money for that.
