Okay, for fun, if you had to compile your own personal 'best of' Richard Hawley and you had to pick 12 tracks what would they be and what would the running order be? Difficult task! How about this...

Serious
Just Like The Rain
Tonight the Streets Are Ours
For Your Lover Give Some Time
Precious Sight
Run For Me
Leave Your Body Behind You
Hotel Room
Down In The Woods
The Ocean
There's A Storm A Coming
Coles Corner

That's a brilliant collection of songs right there!

I canna take it Captain - I think I'm gonna blow :cyclopsani:

All great lists - I look at each one and go 'yeah...yeah....yeah' and have a shortlist of about 50...

I really love the early instrumental tracks and I've never heard Vickers Road - so off to sort that out
now...

Update : that were a neat hour found lots of old tunes that were new to me - covers that I had and had not heard before - songs I remember but couldn't recall the title [Precious Sight] -and then I come across The Only Road - You Don't Miss Your Water...

I can't do this :*:

The Ocean means a lot to me. I nearly drowned when I was about five. I was scared of water for long time. My then fiancée gave me confidence again by taking me down to the ocean in Spain and patiently encouraged me. I love swimming now and we had the song as the play out music at our wedding. We were both quite emotional when it was the last song played at the Sheffield City Hall gig

I'm not even going to try making a list at this hour but there appears to be a huge Long Black Train shaped hole in this thread.

Oh this is another impossible task. Tonight my list is mostly including:
Naked in Pitsmoor
Darlin'
Run for me
Tonight
Before
Seek it
The sun refused to shine
Remorse code
You don't miss your water
And, for Craig - long black train

Have I included something from every album? If I haven't I should have done. It will change tomorrow anyway. But Naked and Darlin' will always be there. And Run for Me. Oh I give up.

I only picked 10! The last 2 - for now:
On the Edge
As the Dawn Breaks
Plus Serious and The Ocean and There's a Storm Coming'. Damn, I stuck to 10 but couldn't stick to 12.

I have spent a far too long thinking about this, and I'm still not convinced this is my final, final list....ridiculous really - it's not like I am going to be held to account for it/go to prison if I get it wrong, anyway, here goes (and in no particular order - that would just be too hard!):-

Tonight
Vickers road
Soldier on
Open up your door
Ocean
Hotel room
Dont miss your water
Sky's Edge
Storm coming
Coles corner
Run for me
Valentine

I'm already thinking about those missing from the list...

This should be easy for me to pick 12, being from Rotherham, as RH said, 6 fingers on each hand!
But I think I'll have to go with efsb.....all on shuffle....but with a few repeats on

Run For Me
Open Up Your Door
Remorse Code
Sky's Edge
There's a Storm
There's a Storm
There's a Storm - Magna Version :Hoorah :Hoorah

I need to add Soldier on and Remorse Code live at Brixton to my previous Top 10.
