Hi there,

I've just completed a DADGAD transcription of one of Mr Hawley's most moving songs, "For Your Lover Give Some Time". DADGAD's actually the tuning I use exclusively (which is why some folks think I'm a bit of a nutcase, but I couldn't care less). In case some of you are interested, please let me know and I'll share the file with you (tabs only, for now). What a wonderful song this is, and brilliantly arranged too. Fair play to you, Mr Hawley :)

Ok, I guess the Wiki entry says it all. I'd just like to add that although the said tuning is mostly used in Celtic music (especially as the D bass drone is reminiscent of the sound of the Irish uilleann pipes), it can be used to play just about any genre: blues, folk, rock and... Richard Hawley songs as well :D
As a matter of fact, I'm mostly a folk blues player but I'm currently playing in an electronic rock band. A musician may be limited but the instrument certainly has no limit.
