Just checked Rough Trade list for tomorrow, looks like they have copies but not sure if that is East, West or both. Sister Ray at Berwick St will have copies and are opening at 8 am.

Went down to my record shop, they didn't get it! They asked for 1 copy each of all the releases, but didn't get a copy of Tumblin. NO!!!

There is already a copy on ebay for £49.99 or best offer, there are on average 15 people per hour viewing it apparently.

I queued from just after 6 till just after 9, also got Ronnie Spector and the 'E' Street Band Say Goodbye to Hollywood and Duane Eddy Stalkin/Rebel Rouser which has an inner paper case which looks as if it could be at least 30 years old and the single itself similar with the centre missing - the wonder of vinyl.

That's the downside to Record Store Day - but the upside is those that can be bothered are bothered and most times get what they want - and something inside me says effort expended is reflected in reward received .

Needless to say I sent my Butler down to queue and buy my stuff - three Gregg's Cheese n Onion pasties will be up on ebay later.

Edit : given the comments made later - I think it best I withdraw the 'and something inside me says effort expended is reflected in reward received ' - as it is deffo not the case for those folks that put in the time but did not pick up their vinyl.

Was lucky enough to get a copy of Rollin & Tumblin in my local record shop here in Cork. He had a few copies too. Was also lucky enough to get The Specials, Bowie, Joy Division and Adam and The Ants among others. :D

Queued from 7.30 in the morning only for the last copy to sell out in front of my eyes. Tried two more shops both of whom had sold out. Apparently any remaining copies will be available for record shops to order in on Tursday ... but with only 750 copies, I'm not hopeful. :(

Sorry I posted this elsewhere as it is not strictly about Richard.....

Just want to share my thoughts on my first Record Store Day experience. I queued up for two and a half hours wanting just one record... when I got to the front of the queue there were none left and I left almost in tears....I think Record Store Day organisers and labels need to rethink . From what I have heard people were going round many different shops with long lists spending hundreds of pounds..and openly discussing while in the queues how much profit they were going to make on ebay! If there were enough copies released fans would be able to get the vinyl they love from the Record Shops who need our support, rather than ending up paying double, treble or even more on ebay.......this is NOT supporting record shops....it will be the death knell of the independent record shops as people think...no point going there - they don't have enough copies......or if not willing to pay the outrageous mark up on ebay, which I was not, we end up with the "virtual" download...... no record, no sleeve, nothing to handle and appreciate....... needless to say I was disappointed in the experience and I know I was not the only one! Paul weller agreed with me!
