My top 10...though the exact order beyond the top 3 is sketchy.....

1. The Ocean
2. Open Up Your Door
3. You Don't Miss Your Water
4. Tonight
5. Coles Corner
6. Hotel Room
7. There's a Storm Coming
8. Vickers Road
9. Soldier On
10. Lady Solitude

Heavy on Coles Corner some might say but this is my favourite album of all time and I feel it will always be the one to beat....

Other contenders....
Room With a View
Our Darkness
Run for Me
Standing at the Sky's Edge
Serenade of Blue (too early to say whether it will make the top 10 in the fullness of time, suspect it might though as I love this track and for me is the standout on the new album)

As requested, here are my current top ten but off the top of my head rather than given a lot of thought. I haven't included the new album because it needs time to bed in. In no particular order:
1. Run for me
2. Tonight
3. Naked in Pitsmoor
4. As the dawn breaks
5. Remorse code
6. Hotel room
7. The sun refused to shine
8. The ocean
9. Darlin'
10. Born under a bad sign

So difficult to choose, but in no particular order, at this moment in time, here goes.....

Valentine (my introduction to RH on Robert Elms show so has to be on here)

As the Dawn Breaks (when I was moving to a different house, a different life.... leaving memories, both good and bad behind)

Don't Get Hung Up On Your Soul (really meaningful lyrics re. my work at that time)

Baby, You're My Light (Our wedding song)

Long Time Down ( just makes me want to get up and dance)

Don't You Cry (haunting melody - always brings to mind someone very dear to me)

Born Under a Bad Sign (reminds me of someone I love)

You Don't Miss Your Water (on a long evening drive to college a good few years ago, I would turn this right up and sing along at the top of my voice)

What Love Means (my youngest daughter leaving home....I wailed for a fortnight)

There's a Storm-a-Coming (just love the huge-ness (is that a word?) of it)

By the time I've finished this it will have changed..........

I Still want You
There's A Storm A' Comin' (Live)
The Ocean (Always Live)
I'm Waiting For The Man (Live from Other Voices, Dingle)
Tonight The Streets Are Ours (Live from London iTunes)
Something Is...!
Oh My Love (Live extended guitar ending)
The Only Road
Time Will Bring You Winter/Down In The Woods (Live, 'Twofor' as RH once said)
Crawfish/Baby One More Time (With Oceana on French TV show, MY TARATATA, how RH could play a guitar, remember the words and sing is beyond me  So men can multitask? Personally I could only think of one thing...........Great cover of Elvis song!)

Cheated a bit with the last two jamesy so if you want I'll go with Down In The Woods and Crawfish. Basically all live versions because they sound so brilliant. ..>

This is a tough one but here goes:

1. Don't You Cry (Had to be number 1, me & the missus listen to this nearly every night, as we fall asleep)
2. For Your Lover Give Some Time
3. Soldier On
4. There's A Storm Coming (Lucky enough to hear Richard play the heavier guitar version at Troxy, truly epic!)
5. Oh My Love
6. Heart Of Oak
7. The Ocean
8. Tonight The Streets Are Ours (My mobile ringtone)
9. Down To The Woods
10. Don't Stare At The Sun

I was supposed to be seeing Richard in Southampton tomorrow night but unfortunately it's been postponed until February :( I'm wondering, seeing as the gig is quite a while after the rest of the tour, if the set list might be a bit different to the rest of the tour. Let's see :D

Hope I'm not too late!

Really difficult, of course, but here are today's ten (although not necessarily in order of priority)

Baby you're my light
Open up your door
Hotel room
Coles corner
Soldier on
Remorse code
The ocean
Heart of oak
I still want you
Oh my love

In the hope that there may be a few more folk who want to have a stab at this .........

There are four songs that currently sit apart from the rest in terms of having amassed votes somewhere in people's Top 10.
There is a standout song that hits "best song" more times than anything else (but this is not quite accurate as some folk have said "in no particular order")
73 of Richard's songs have so far featured in people's lists
The album that comes out as having the most total votes is maybe predictable

Thank you to all you 30 good folk who have done this so far.
I am off to the USA next weekend and back on 4/12, so hoping to see a few more lists by then - I will do the summary in December.

So if I register using 20 different aliases - maybe I could get my top 10 to be the top 10 - well it works in banking

Have a good holiday - we await the reuslts of [mainly] your and our [little] labour ..>

A bit of fun perhaps but I can't honestly say I'm a fan of lists like these per say... Me picking ten songs today.. If asked to do the same next Tuesday 8 of those would have changed. It's just.. well for a start so many great songs really and a it's a personal thing at a time and place and mindset but I'm going to give it a go.. only because Jamsey asked me too, as if he gets a certain amount of entries he will be in with a chance to win a prize.. a weekend in Lourdes for 1..... This isn't definitive and compiled under the influence of having had no alcohol since Sunday so I can be excused if I leave something out or include a Wolfmother number by accident... Actually I just tried and It's impossible.. I might be back... with beer and try again...

I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Did find starting this difficult, but after applying myself properly to the task actually managed to come up with a top 20. Anyway, here is the first 10:

Tonight The Streets Are Ours
Open Up Your Door
Hotel Room
Coles Corner
Serious
Born Under a Bad Sign
The Ocean
Don't Stare At The Sun
There's a Storm a Comin'
Bang To Rights

The albums are so consistently good. You could randomly select 10 Hawley songs and have a great album. Just to prove it, here's a top ten I did literally with my eyes closed...

The Ocean
Don't Get Hung up In Your Soul
Tuesday PM
Dark Road
You Don't Miss Your Water
Don't Stare at the Sun
I Wonder If I Care As Much (Live at the Devil's Arse)
Can You Hear the Rain, Love
Born Under A Bad Sign
Tonight the Streets Are Ours

Now, take a listen to that and tell me that isn't an amazing selection!

So thanks everyone that joined in so far - maybe getting 50 contributions was a tall order but I'm living in hope....
I'll call this to a close before Christmas then compile some stats while I'm recovering from hip operation number two early January.
To everyone who is honing their Top 10 please grace this thread with yours pronto
Cheers all
Mike

I've been planning a"bits"album for a while so honestly folks this is really useful,if you have any vid clips or radio stuff you'd like I'm all ears, there are lots of b-sides etc that I think are decent enough to warrant a collection, for example"Kelham island"and"there's a storm a comin(full version"are two of my faves which aren't available so yeah keep em coming.....I forget you see
