Richard- Can (good) song writing be learnt? My feelings are you either can or you cant. I've even seen books trying to teach it. I may be wrong but it seems there's as many ways of writing a song as there are ways of playing numbers on the lottery. I think it comes from a certain mindset. You could call it talent. I'm not sure you can force ideas to come out. I notice that the 70 s influence is apparent in recent releases....any thoughts?? |

Hello Richard after my best friend send me "For Your Lover.." I decided to come to your show in Amsterdam last year. Though you didn't play my favorite there I really enjoyed myself and decided to write a song that was inspired by yours. I'd like to send it to you because I think it's really nice but I'm not the one to sing it, being Dutch and having that beautiful accent How do I get it to you if you would want to hear it? |

Thanks Richard. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for sending it to your manager. For Your Lover Give Some Time is one of the prettiest songs I know together with Get In Line by Ron Sexsmith. But that you've listened to one of mine means a lot to me. All the best, Bokke. |
