As of right now my Favourite is Coles Corner, the orchestration of the intro to the smoothest vocals ever just do my head in...what an amazing way to open an album....it's just a beautiful piece of work through and through. The whole album is killer.

well done Richard :D

I finally decided on my favourite. The award goes to... (drumroll)

"Born Under A Bad Sign". Even though the whole album gets played all the way through everytime, I find myself constantly hitting 'repeat' on this one (just did it again, in fact!). It's mostly the melody. Beautiful, just beautiful. (I see by the poll results I'm in the distinct minority, but I'm used to that!)

"(Wading Through) The Waters Of My Time" nips at its heels.

I don't think I could say it any better myself. Why can't everybody make records with this much care devoted to every track on it, no matter what style of music they make?

I'm always afraid of sounding like an ass-kisser when I post what I think about the man's music, but he's definitely the guy who's impressed me the most in the last year.

They're all a joy to hear. Favourites? Well, they change from time to time. At the moment my favourite track would be Wading through the waters, with Cole's Corner, The Ocean and Born under a bad sign right on its heels. The album gets played (and enjoyed) in its entirety, but Wading is just the kind of perfect country song with its relaxed strums and those slides - mood, words and tune matching up.

"The Ocean" probably my fave, though it's hard to pick out just one. "Born Under A Bad Sign", "Coles Corner" and "Hotel Room" are doing it for me at the moment as well.

after friday nights booze-a-thon including a drunken little performance at the Dog & P i ended up back at my mates house. 3 in the morning both of us singing along to every track on Coles Corner.

hadnt heard it for a while and it hit me again what a cracking album it is.

best song for drunken 'Hawley-oke' - Wading Thru The Waters

:)
