I'm the only one so far who voted for 'Lowedges'. Honestly, the jury's still out on which one is my favourite, but it looked like a kitten left out in the cold, so I took the liberty.

I've only got CC and Lowedges so far, Late Night Final is in the post apparently.

Coles Corner is where I came in with Richard and it's a perfect lp which became a permanent soundtrack. Then I got Lowedges at Christmas and was again overwhelmed, You Don't Miss Your Water is astonishing. Choosing between the two is difficult but, at the risk of disappearing you know where, Mr Hawley on Coles Corner just seems to have more confidence that this timeless/out of time (delete both for unique) music is just the right thing for him to do and that he's grown into his voice.

Lowedges docked marks for the opening of Run For Me, (love the song and the rest of it , and that bass line before the vocal is 8)..just those first couple of seconds (aghh shoot me now)

Anyway, I'm just chuffed to bits to find such great music and am looking forward to Late Night Final, Richard Hawley and whatever is next

Favourite RH no doubt about it Late Night Final, listen to it every day. Lowedges and Coles Corner are of course brilliant too.

PS the young lady who sings backup on Run To Me, Alice Coulam, I know Alice from the music department. We even played on the same gig last summer, Late Night Jazz in the union...she sang with Black Coffee, great group, I was on my lonesome...switched between performing and sitting at the ticket desk!

First thing I thought on hearing Coles Corner title track: "this is bloody me, this"

...I could relate to the subject of the song so much. Like a lot of Richard's songs. They just grab ya.

I too voted Coles Corner... it doesn't have a note or word that doesn't belong there.
Second for me is LNF...
But I find it hard to explain with these records what it is I like most about them, or why I prefer one over the other(s). I just gravitate the most to Coles Corner. It just feels... right.

I haven't heard the mini-album yet.

Coles Corner got my vote.
BUT all 4 albums are superb.
Mr Hawley is getting stronger with each album.
His style is unique and maturing all the time.
I pity those poor folks yet to discover him.
