I`ve just had my first listen of Lowedges. I boughth it last week but kept it till Sat so that i knew i`d not be interrupted.
Tracks 8 & 9 not quite sure of these 2 yet

Tracks 2 , 4 & 7 have that " grow to love " feel, often these sort of tracks become your favourites

Tracks 1, 3, 5, , 10 & 11 wow, immediate impact, instant hits.

TRACK 6 SUPERB

OVERALL :D :D :D

Now this might sound odd but, i`ve just sat and listened to You Don`t Miss Your Water, again. It flows with the same sort of slow , powerful majesty of a great river. The Nile, perhaps :farao: Well, told you it was odd. :*:

It's Over Love takes a little getting into, then suddenly you'll love it. I have the live version that used to be available on the web site and it was that version I grew to love - it's a beautiful version.

The Only Road - hear it live and wow.

hiya d, i don`t doubt it for a moment. Over all there`s some really beautiful tracks on this cd , just listening to The Nights Are Made For Us , it`s almost croonerish, god, even a bit Val Doonican. No , really. Don`t mock, he was very popular and he had some lovely jumpers. I bet even RH has a few " no dads " tucked away at the back of the wardrobe.
This will probably end up me favourite cd, not that it matters coz i can play any of RH `s music and be just as happy :D :D

Crooning is good, one of my favourite styles of singing (Scott Walker was my first favourite).

I`m with you on that one . I always loved the voice of Matt Monroe , especially From Russia With Love

It puts me in mind of Andy Williams - I do love that track though :D

It reminds me of a Neopolitan love song. Reminds me of the old homeland.

Been listening to this today at work, in great clarity on P-Pod-3, with earphones under my ear defenders.

Played this so many times before, but being able to focus my ears on it, so to speak, I realise it tells a story, the order of the tracks etc.
It's a very powerful album I find, and that coupled with the power of the machinery in the workshop was kind of fitting. 8)

I was thinking about Lowedges today & realised that I've not read anywhere what it is about Lowedges - the place, that prompted Richard to chose it for an album title. :eh? I'm always glad to see the sign when I come to Sheffield, as it means I'm nearly there :D (Obviously  ) :*:

I love this but didn't realise there was a story behind it, I suppose that comes from always being busy and never devoting time to simply listening ... even playing it in the car you've always got to keep your wits about you, especially on the bloody 13!! I'll definitely have another listen now, thanks lofty... if i'm allowed to call you that??
