This is true :*:

Ladyblue, of course you can call me Lofty
Have a look at the thread titled 'Motorcycle theme on Lowedges' too, I think it's in Misc. Some interesting stuff there :)

It's still my all time favourite. I sometimes imagine how it would sound if it were re-recorded with Richard's evolved sound; then I decide I just like the simple, plaintive rawness of the original

in anger any ways.

I bought the Lowedges CD at the picnic and although I had heard several tracks at live gigs / the DA CD - but hadn't heard Danny before. So if your taking requests - an instrumental on the next CD would be nice - not that I dont like your vocal...

I'll get me coat :eye:

It's called "history" and it reminds us where we came from, prompts fond memories and makes us who we are.

Says the man that treats us to new live versions of old Hawley classics (Run for Me (different tempo), intro to Lady Solitude and christmas version), acoustic versions of I'm On Nights, Darlin' etc) and who has talked about doing a new version of Swimming in the Heart of Jane......... :*:

Perhaps that's not replaying, just adapting? Sorry, I'll shut up now! :*:

evolving is the word you may be looking for,i would never rerecord a whole album, too weird. As for recording old songs,i think that some songs have their time and its over but some of the tunes i have made up seem not to have"a time"don't know how better to put that. Anyway i will shut up now as this is annoying me,it must be the lack of tabs

Evolving is exactly the word. Some of your tracks are timeless - and that's not just my own opinion because I know I can be biased where your music is concerned!

Cheer up, you're on the road to recovery and will be out taking hikes (and fag breaks) with Fred again before you know it.

As a newbie last year I bought all the albums at the same time more or less ... Coles Corner being the first one....... I can't chose a fave .....it always seems to be the one I am playing - but I always love paired down acousticy type stuff..all the better to hear the voice....and Lowedges is a real gem in that respect .... my choice of listening for today........ I think it's different for fans listening to music from earlier albums......as has been said - timelessness and nostalgia are an important part of musical enjoyment........hence me listening to music from 75 years ago recently....Billie Holiday.....I can see Richard's point of view as an artist evolving.......and not wanting to go backwards so to speak ...... but it's still lovely for us to be able to see and hear our old faves live on stage .... whoever I go to see I always have "old" songs in mind I hope they will sing.......like Dylan...I wanted him to sing Like A Rolling Stone and Blowing In The Wind.....never expecting he would - but he did and it was a huge thrill...even though I hardly recognised them...haha...oh well...morning ramble over......
