I like this bloke, his last album 'Seperate Ways' was a corker and he's got a new one out. New video for single 'In My Arms' is here http://www.teddythompson.com/media.aspx and features a guest appearance by Rufus Wainwright.......twangy guitars and a 'feelgood' tune.

He's the son of Folk legend Richard Thompson.

Check it out!

Thanks for the recommendation, Dave. I heard some of his other stuff a while ago, but this is more up beat - really good!

He's on at the Barbican later this month with the Carthys and some other folk types.

Been a big fan of this guy for sometime now………….his last three albums have all been completely different……..”Separate Ways” was a rocky/folky thing……..”Up Front and Down Low” was a country covers thing and “A Piece of What You Need” is a really upbeat thing.
(He always puts a secret track on each of his albums…….an Everly Brothers cover)

Listen to “Slippery Slope” on his new album………….similar to the stylings of a certain Sheffield balladeer…………….

Gonna get me that Country covers album, also a copy of his new one, but when is it out in the UK? I know it's out in the US.

Thanks 'Pink Lady' !

BTW.......Why are you a 'former' pink lady? Were you in the original 1978 version of Grease? Were you merely a big fan who modelled herself on Olivia Newton John or Stockard Channing?? :?

Unfortunately not, Dave ... or should I say 'in my dreams' - on the waltzer in some of those skin tight pants, size 8, mmmm :*:

The name 'pink lady' came from a cocktail I had on holiday once - there is a long and involved story - but it's incriminating so it's best I don't go there ...

Although I originally registered in 2006, because I didn't post enough times I ended up having to re-register and I thought that 'the person formerly known as pink lady' was a bit too long so I shortened it to 'former pink lady'

.. so now you know!

I heard 'In My Arms' twice today and both times I listened to the end to see who the singer is. (I forgot the first time). I love the song.

Bought the album today, will have a listen on the way home. Looking on the web I notice he's playing 'The Ruby Lounge' in Mancfester 26th Sept. Tickets only £10.......may have to have a trip over!

I've seen his dad live at least 15 times.
