Magic is a far better album, the new one sounds like out-takes from that session.

Magic was fucking awesome!

I didn't like it at first bar the wrestler which is a class track-some of the writings mad and cringeworthy and it's all lightweight an out and out pop record really, but i really like it for that -it's a no brainer like meself .

looked the business last night. Opening the set with a Joe Strummer cover was a mighty cool act considering Joe's link to the festival. Speaking of Joe I found this which is a hand written letter from Strummer to the Glasto booking team from a few years back...

I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

I just watched the Springsteen highlights from Glasto on the red button. Outlaw Pete was amazingly good. Out In The Streets & Waitin' On A Sunny Day were typical Bruce pomp. Thunder Road was ropey and served only to make me want to watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYPSZiE0OAs If i could have been anywhere at Glasto this weekend it would have been front and centre for Born To Run. Greatest song. Ever.

One of my musical dreams came true last year at Old Trafford when I saw Bruce sing Born To Run .... and was one of the thousands there singing along with him...a real anthem .... a rock n roll moment...... to be repeated unexpectedly two weeks later in Cardiff ....

Tramps like us baby! 8)

I have to confess at Saturday night at Glastonbury, I wasn't sure if it was a good idea. I'm not a fan. Though in the end I loved it, he brought the house down.
