I've read bits about him on the forum, so i wanted to check him out. Theirs nowt on i-tunes and no audio on Amazon, the only stuff i seen was on YouTube, so..... can anyone recommend a couple of CD's to get me started? |

hey gary I think you may have spelt it wrong 'lee hazlewood' in itunes came up with a few but not many albums, but you wouldn't go wrong with this un as good starting place 
this is one of my fav's 
also theres quite a few Lee albums on Spotify if you use that

I love the track The Night Before, and all the duets with Nancy. I've never found many albums in stores, but Amazon is a good place to buy from. I have this one which is, I believe, two album releases on one CD.

Cowboy in Sweden is one of the best CDs ever made.. perhaps because Vem kan segla reminds me of my childhood |

Cowboy in Sweden is very good indeed, possibly his best - but I suggest you would start with "Trouble is a Lonesome Town" which is a concept album and a good introduction to Hazlewood's surreal country tunes, sub-Johnny Cash bass voice, and above all his hilarious and wry humour - he was a great man and I miss him hugely

me too it broke my heart doing that last interview with him,however he left a MASSIVE legacy behind and i recommend you start with Cowboy in sweden and this

Yes there are three lee and nancy and all are really good fun, i think "Nancy and Lee 3" which only came out about five years ago is really good. |

Agree 100%. Nancy and Lee 3 isn't always easy to get hold of (I bought mine on Amazon though) but well worth it. Lee was always one of my favourites when I was growing up. I was real sad when he died. That amazing voice and he wrote beautiful songs too. In fact - rather like someone else we know.......

It was originally only released in certain countries, which was typical Lee. Even now there are seriously obscure albums of his that you have to live in places like Denmark or Finland to get hold of

I remember listening to his duets with Nancy when i was a kid. My parents were big fans.My sister got a hold of Summer Wine and played it about 500 times over.  Drove us all nuts.
I ordered the album off Amazon not too long ago.It was a pain to track down but it was worth it.He was an excellent songwriter. He also had some finely tuned handlebars.

Light In The Attic are supposedly preparing Lee Hazlewood reissues for spring 2012 release including some LHI material, all supposedly drawn from master tapes.

thats great- theyre an awesome record label who release a lot of good stuff i love requiem for an almost lady- and theres a great old song from the 60's which was on the LA Nuggets thingo on itunes called Rainbow Woman that was awesome |
