I saw ron sexsmith a few years ago supporting elvis costello and thought he was excellent but never got around to getting any of his albums. Anybody out there like him or got any of his albums? If so which are his best?

I saw him do a song on jools holland from this album I think. It was called just my heart talking. A really beautiful song. I'll have to pick this up. Cheers. Any other ron sexsmith recomendations?

The album "Ron Sexsmith" is good - and it has "Secret Heart" on it.

I'm kind of partial to Cobblestone Runway.

I don't normally contribute to forums but I have got to say that Other songs by Ron Sexsmith is one of my all time favourite albums, worth it alone for the song April after all, but its all great stuff. First heard him on Jools in about 96/7 but unfortunately haven't seen him live.

have a listen and post back what you think really is a great album, also if I could be a bit forward and say if you do like this around the same time I was listening a lot the the Jayhawks, particularly the song Blue. It is off Tomorrow the green grass I think but I saw they have a greatest hits out so you could try that.......

cheers

Did anyone see the bbc4 documentary on ron last night? The guy knows how to write a song. Really comes across like a great guy. Very shy and unassuming.

I have a few of his albums. I have ron sexsmith, the first album which is my favourite of the ones i have. I also have retriever, whereabouts, cobblestone runway which are also great. I have ordered blue boy and the new one long player late bloomer. Check out this track from blue boy performed on jools holland.

That documentary was excellent; indeed a good night on BBC4 all round.
