Eddies Blues - Eddie Cochran
Kommotion - Duane Eddie

I am cheating here because it is not an instrumental but would like to give it a mention because it has a beautiful guitar solo in it.........
Ticket To Heaven - Dire Straits.

Recently bought a cd "THE BEST OF INSTRUMENTAL 60'S GUITAR" VOL 1......which has some great tracks on....

VOL 2 is on my shopping list

just listened to about 2 hours worth of Jazz with my Grandad, mostly Sid Phillips, so he gets a mention.

Other favourites

Angelo Badalamenti- Twin Peaks soundtrack

Booker T - Green Onions

Wow yeah...I remember my aunt introduced me to that tune... her fancy man was mad keen on jazz....they had album upon album every artist you could think of, totally cool cover art too......
when he died..she just got rid of all the records....bloody sad really....

Jerry Reeds Jerrys Breakdown-- kind of head spinning

Ive tried to learn this loads of times and end up putting the guitar away for a while in order to recover

This will scare you even more - Sierra was only about 16 when this was filmed...

Oh yes - and her main instrument is the mandolin...

My favourite instrumental I've heard in recent years is Hotel Loneliness by Link Wray

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iou3AlPFonY

When I started playing guitar relatively seriously about 4 years ago after a long, long lay off I heard this & it blew me away. Full of great melodies, really evocative and an awesome guitar sound. It's directly influenced at least 80% of my playing ever since.

Also Witchdoctor by our resident Mr Twangalot is phenomenal
