First it's Steven Seagal turning to guitar, now Hugh Laurie's done a blues album!
Heard a couple of tracks on 6music and it doesn't sound too bad.

As well as a talented and highly paid actor, Hugh Laurie is also a quality musician, excellent guitarist and pianist...........bastard.

It's a pretty good listen and fair play for sticking his neck on the line musically.

Funny how he's pursued the musical blues rather than the political ones, unlike some other prominent Old Etonians...

I really like Hugh Laurie, I knew he was talented but I was kind of apprehensive about this...

It so good :D

It's a shame but it doesn't do it for me either. With all the blues greats the voice comes from somewhere deep inside them, with Laurie it seems just to come from his mouth if that makes sense, it doesn't have that depth, doesn't really sound like he *means* it if you know what I mean.

His voice to me sounds "average" in that he can carry a tune, but that's not always enough is it? A tune is nothing if there's no emotion in the voice of the person singing it. Nice tinkler of the ivories, mind.
